Sara Cosgrove, MD. President of Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America. In addition to her leadership role at SHEA, Dr. Cosgrove acts as the director of the antimicrobial stewardship program and associate hospital epidemiologist at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. She is also a professor of medicine and epidemiology at Baltimore-based Johns Hopkins University. In 2014, Dr. Cosgrove received the Oswald Avery Award from the Infectious Disease Society of America, which is given to scholars age 45 and younger for outstanding early achievement in infectious disease research.
