Pascale Carayon, PhD. Proctor & Gamble Bascom Professor in Total Quality, Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at University of Wisconsin-Madison. In addition to her professorship role at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Dr. Carayon heads the Center for Quality and Productivity Improvement within the university’s College of Engineering and serves as co-editor-in-chief of the journal Applied Ergonomics. She is a fellow of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society and the International Ergonomics Association, and a member of the National Research Council Board on Human-Systems Integration. Dr. Carayon received the 2015 John M. Eisenberg Patient Safety and Quality Award from the Joint Commission and the National Quality Forum for her work in advancing the patient safety field through human factors engineering and the Systems Engineering Initiative for Patient Safety model.
