Joan Silver, RN. Vice President of Organizational Quality and Performance Improvement and Patient Safety Officer for PinnacleHealth (Harrisburg, Pa.).
Ms. Silver, who has more than 25 years of experience, took her current role at PinnacleHealth in 2000, and in this role she is accountable for developing strategic direction, philosophy, planning and programming for organizational quality and safety. Since she took on this role, the system has been named in the top 5 percent in patient safety by The Joint Commission for several years and became certified by the Joint Commission in advanced heart failure, advanced inpatient diabetes, advanced stroke, knee and hip surgery, spine surgery and stroke rehabilitation.
