Jeffrey Romoff. President and CEO of UPMC (Pittsburgh). At UPMC, a fully integrated $17 billion global health enterprise, Mr. Romoff oversees 80,000 employees as the system’s president and CEO. Mr. Romoff began his career at the University of Pittsburgh in 1973, serving as director of the office of education and regional programming for the Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic, which became the first academic psychiatric facility in the region to offer organized continuing education programs. He eventually took on other leadership positions within the clinic, where he helped it earn funding from the National Institute of Mental Health before joining UPMC in 1986. Since taking on the CEO role in 2006, Mr. Romoff has helped guide UMPC’s models of accountable, cost-efficient and patient-centered care that contribute more than $900 million annually in community benefits to the western Pennsylvania region.
