Mary Ellen Clyne, PhD. President and CEO of Clara Maass Medical Center (Belleville, N.J.). Dr. Clyne has served as president and CEO of Clara Maass Medical Center since 2010 after spending time as COO and vice president of patient care services. She is responsible for the hospital’s more than 700 physicians and 2,100 employees. Under her leadership, the hospital took on a major on-campus construction project for the first time in a decade to build a new four-story, 87,000-square-foot facility that will include a 32-bed intensive care unit, expanded emergency department, four operating rooms and medical office space. In 2016, she received the Margaret C. Haley Award from South Orange, N.J.-based Seton Hall University College of Nursing, an award that is given out annually to alumni who have made significant contributions to the nursing field.
