Nancy Schlichting. CEO of Henry Ford Health System (Detroit). Ms. Schlichting, who will retire from her post as CEO of Henry Ford Health System in December, has earned many accolades since she joined the system in 1998 as senior vice president and chief administrative officer. She is credited with leading the turnaround of the financially strapped Henry Ford Hospital when she took on an additional role as its president and CEO in 2001. Two years later, she assumed leadership of the $4 billion health system. Since then, her work has been recognized by Crain’s Detroit Business, the American Hospital Association and the American Lung Association, among many other organizations. Ms. Schlichting holds an MBA from CornellUniversity in Ithaca, N.Y., and received an honorary doctor of laws degree from WalshCollege in Troy, Mich.
