José R. Sánchez. President and CEO of Norwegian American Hospital (Chicago). Mr. Sánchez arrived at Chicago’s Norwegian American Hospital to serve as president and CEO in October 2010. As president and CEO, Mr. Sánchez oversees the hospital’s 200 beds and more than 1,000 employees and physicians. Between 2010 and 2014, he turned the hospital’s net margin from a loss of $4.5 million to a profit of $1 million. Previously, Mr. Sánchez served as senior vice president of Generations+/Northern Manhattan Health Network, one of the largest healthcare networks in the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation. This August, Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner appointed Mr. Sánchez to the State Board of Health.
