John Popovich Jr., MD. President and CEO of Henry Ford Hospital (Detroit). Dr. Popovich, who was named CEO in June 2010, is the first physician to lead 805-bed Henry Ford Hospital as president and CEO in more than 40 years. He joined Henry Ford Hospital, the flagship hospital of Henry Ford Health System, in 1980 as a senior staff physician. Since then, he served for 10 years as division head of pulmonary and critical care medicine before becoming chair of the department of internal medicine in 1999. He was promoted to senior vice president for clinical affairs in 2008, during which time he led the development of the Henry Ford Physician Network. Currently, Dr. Popovich also serves as CEO and chair of the board of the network, as well as a professor at Wayne State University's School of Medicine in Detroit.
