Bryce Gartland, MD. CEO of Emory University Hospital (Atlanta). Dr. Gartland was promoted from COO of Emory University Hospital to CEO in August 2015. In addition, Dr. Gartland serves at the helm of Emory University Orthopaedics & Spine Hospital and Emory University Hospital at Wesley Woods. Since first joining Emory as a physician in 2005, Dr. Gartland has held several leadership roles as a hospitalist and hospital operations, such as vice president of operations and COO. Throughout his tenure at Emory, Dr. Gartland has been instrumental in numerous hospital accomplishments, including the hospital’s University HealthSystem Consortium rankings for quality and safety achievements, Magnet accreditation for nursing excellence and the successful treatment of four patients diagnosed with Ebola virus disease.
