James Leonard, MD. President and CEO of the Carle Foundation Hospital (Urbana, Ill.). Dr. Leonard has been CEO of the Carle Foundation Hospital since 2000. During his tenure, he has overseen a five-story expansion of the hospital’s north tower, the integration of the Carle Clinic Association and Health Alliance Medical Plans and the development of the Carle Auxiliary Guest House. Prior to serving as CEO, he was associate medical director of the Carle Clinic, as well as the medical director of the employee assistance and sports medicine programs. Dr. Leonard is a member of the American College of Physician Executives, the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Illinois Hospital Association board of directors.
