Roper Hospital (Charleston, S.C.). Roper Hospital was founded in 1829 as the first community hospital in the Carolinas. This 368-bed hospital has been named one of Truven’s 100 Top Hospitals twice, in 2015 and 2016. Roper Hospital boasts a rooftop helipad, a CyberKnife system and a comprehensive intensive care unit, among other features.
