University of California Davis, Medical Center is a 619-bed teaching hospital that was named one of the best hospitals for cardiology and heart surgery for 2014-15 by U.S. News & World Report. Its newest facilities include a state-of-the-art catheterization laboratory in addition to an electrophysiology laboratory. It is also designated as a Magnet hospital for nursing excellence by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and a Blue Distinction Center for cardiac care.
