Northwestern Memorial Hospital has been ranked the number one hospital in Chicago and in Illinois for six years by U.S. News & World Report, and the Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute helped the hospital achieve the top spot. In U.S. News & World Report’s 2013-14 rankings, Northwestern Memorial was named one of the top 15 hospitals in the nation for cardiology and heart surgery. The hospital is also a Blue Cross Blue Shield Blue Distinction Center for cardiac care and has received Magnet recognition from the American Nurses Credentialing Center for nursing excellence.
