HackensackUMC is home to The Heart & Vascular Hospital, which includes high-quality programs in interventional cardiology, cardiac surgery and stroke care. It also includes a state-designated cardiac catheterization center. The Heart & Vascular Hospital’s clinical cardiology department includes more than 142 cardiologists, and the Society of Chest Pain Centers has recognized the hospital as an accredited chest pain center. The hospital has also created the Women’s Cardiac Institute, which is led by a team of female cardiologists. The hospital was named one of the top 50 hospitals for cardiology and heart surgery by U.S. News & World Report for 2014-15.
