Baptist Medical Center (Jacksonville, Fla.).

The Baptist Heart Hospital at Baptist Medical Center is the only freestanding facility for cardiovascular care in Northeast Florida. It also hosts the region’s only outpatient congestive heart failure clinic, helping patients manage related issues without hospitalization. In August 2014, cardiologists at Baptist Medical Center became the first in the state to implant the world’s smallest pacemaker in a patient. The hospital is one of 35 nationwide participating in this clinical trial. Baptist offers a HeartWise prevention program to help patients lead heart-healthy lifestyles. Baptist HeartWise also offers a specific women’s heart care element. The hospital is among the five best hospitals in Florida for 2014-15, according to U.S. News & World Report, and it is Magnet-accredited for nursing excellence from the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
