Scripps (San Diego). Scripps orthopedic surgeons perform more than 3,000 hip and knee replacements annually at the health system’s five hospitals that include orthopedic services. Scripps is home to more than 135 board-certified orthopedic surgeons who perform a variety of orthopedic and spine procedures, including artificial disc replacement. In addition to quality clinical care, the health system includes Scripps Clinics’ Shiley Center for Orthopaedic Research and Education, where physicians are developing artificial cartilage, testing new devices and conducting clinical research. Blue Cross Blue Shield Association designated Scripps a Blue Distinction Center for orthopedic care.
