OrthoNebraska Hospital (Omaha). In May 2017, Nebraska Orthopaedic Hospital and OrthoWest announced that the two entities would begin serving patients as OrthoNebraska. Established in 2004, the physician-owned Nebraska Orthopaedic Hospital, now OrthoNebraska Hospital, includes 29 orthopedic and spine physicians. The hospital includes an emergency department staffed by board-certified emergency medicine physicians and physical therapy services. OrthoNebraska Hospital’s robust sports medicine program is the official medical provider for the Nebraska Stampede, Storm Chasers minor league baseball team and Ballet Nebraska. In 2016, the hospital’s orthopedic surgery volume totaled 8,171. In 2015, the hospital won the National Safety Council Honor Gold Award, which honors organizations that increase the reported number of hazards and corrections each year over a two-year period.
