Loyola University Medical Center (Maywood, Ill.). The 547-bed Loyola University Medical Center includes a Level I trauma center, burn center, transplant center and a 20-bed unit for patients undergoing stem cell transplant. Formerly known as the Foster G. McGaw Hospital, Loyola University Medical Center is ranked among the top five hospitals in Illinois by U.S. News & World Report for 2016-17 and its stroke center has received the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association Get With the Guidelines-Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award for the past eight years.
