Harborview Medical Center (Seattle). Harborview Medical Center, part of Seattle-based UW Medicine, strives to provide patients with healthy, sustainable foods. The hospital signed the Healthy Food in Health Care Pledge, a framework that outlines steps to improve the health of patients, communities and the environment. Harborview Medical Center received the Top 25 Environmental Excellence Award from Practice Greenhealth in 2017 for the sixth consecutive year. The hospital also received Practice Greenhealth’s Circles of Excellence Awards this year for its sustainability programs in climate, environmentally preferable purchasing, healthy food, green building, greening the operating room and less waste.
