CHI St. Luke’s Health — Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center (Houston). Opened in 1954 as St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital, Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center is equipped with 850 beds and 3,919 employees, including 1,555 registered nurses. The hospital was the first in Texas and the Southwest to earn Magnet designation for nursing excellence from the American Nurses Credentialing Center in 2001.
