University Hospitals Samaritan Medical Center (Ashland, Ohio). Part of Cleveland-based University Hospitals, this 55-bed hospital is based between Cleveland and Columbus, two of Ohio’s largest cities. The hospital, previously known as Samaritan Regional Health System, was given to the City of Ashland in 1912 by two local philanthropists who were inspired by the biblical story of the Good Samaritan. This year, iVantage named UH Samaritan Medical Center to its Top 100 Rural & Community Hospital list.
