WellStar Health Network ACO (Marietta, Ga.). WellStar Health Network was selected to begin the Medicare Shared Savings Program in July 2012, and it renewed its contract this year in Track 1 of the program. The network has roughly 100 participating practices and has been largely successful in generating savings. In its first performance year (July 2012 through 2013) the ACO generated aggregate shared savings of $9.74 million, and in it its second performance year (2014) WellStar generated $3.78 million in aggregate shared savings. WellStar splits its shared savings evenly between its hospital and physician participants. The ACO is part of 11-hospital WellStar Health System, the largest system in Georgia.
