Weill Cornell Physician Organization (New York City). Weill Cornell Physician Organization still stands today as New York City’s first ACO between a health plan and physician organization. The ACO is made up of Weill Cornell faculty members who are also attending physicians at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center. The ACO and Cigna entered an accountable care initiative in January 2012. More than two years later — in September 2014 — Weill Cornell Physician Organization and Aetna launched a similar agreement involving 1,237 Weill Cornell physicians.
