Ashworth College launches online RN to BSN degree program

To help meet a growing demand for nurses with bachelor's degrees, Norcross, Ga.-based Ashworth College has launched an online bachelor of science in nursing program for that builds upon the experience and skill sets registered nurses already possess.

Many hospitals and health systems prefer to hire nurses with BSNs as a means to help them achieve Magnet status. Some institutions even prefer or require nurses to have a BSN to be considered as a candidate for advancement into supervisory and non-clinical positions.

"Nurses who earn a BSN degree are better equipped to handle the growing demands of the profession," said Rob Klapper, president of Ashworth College. "Ashworth's RN to BSN program adapts to nurses' schedules and needs in order to ensure success and upward mobility, and by doing so, helps meet the needs of employers amid a shortage of healthcare professionals."

Ashworth's RN to BSN online curriculum was developed to meet key nursing educational and professional standards including the Institute of Medicine, Quality and Safety Education for Nurses and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing Baccalaureate Essentials.

There are also a limited number of partial and full scholarships available for interested nurses, the applications for which are due Feb. 21. To learn more about the program, click here.
