Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids needs more nurses: 3 things to know

Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, is looking to recruit more nurses at a job fair Jan. 30, according to a KCRG-TV9 report.

Here are three things to know about the recruitment initiative.

1. The hospital is in need of more registered nurses due to expansion, according to Mercy's CNO, Mary Brobst.

2. Areas where RNs are needed include outpatient care, home care, clinics, pediatrics and cardiology.

3. The hospital hopes the job fair will help fill the RN need. "We'd love to have people that are interested," Ms. Brobst said, according to KCRG-TV9. "Not only people who are currently, either registered or certified as a healthcare professional, but those who are interested. I think about high school students."
