Sen. Sanders eager to partner with Trump on drug cost legislation

Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., on Sunday said he was open to collaborating with President Donald Trump to create new legislation to address high drug costs, according to The Hill.

Sen. Sanders appeared on CNN's "State of the Union" and told reporter Dana Bash he would "absolutely" work with the president to lower drug costs.

"President Trump, come on board," Sen. Sanders said. "Let's work together. Let's end the absurdity of Americans paying by far the highest prices in the world for prescription drugs."

Sen. Sanders also highlighted a bill he hopes will lower drug costs, saying, "I've introduced legislation that would allow pharmacists and distributors to buy lower-cost medicine from around the world," according to the report.
