LifePoint ED nursing directors earn patient safety recognition

The Emergency Department Nurse Director Council of Brentwood, Tenn.-based LifePoint Health has earned the Team Award from the Emergency Nurses Association.

The award is issued to a group or committee that shows commitment to advocating for patient safety and care quality excellence in the ED.

LifePoint Health is comprised of 72 hospital campuses across 22 states. The system's ED Nurse Director Council features nursing leaders from across the system.

"We are incredibly proud of the ED Nurse Director Council's meaningful work to advance our mission of making communities healthier and are thrilled that the group has been honored by the ENA for its accomplishments," said Melissa Waddey, senior vice president of operations strategy and integration for LifePoint. "The council has been instrumental in achieving significant results for our hospitals by helping to improve the patient experience, decrease wait times and ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality care in emergency departments across the country."
