Man charged with murder in fatal double shooting at Fla. hospital

A man accused of fatally shooting a patient and employee at Parrish Medical Center in Titusville, Fla., has been formally charged with two counts of first-degree murder, according to Florida Today.

Titusville police say 29-year-old David Owens entered an elderly patient's room at Parrish Medical Center last month and opened fire, killing the patient and a hospital employee who was in the room. Mr. Owens entered the 210-bed hospital through the emergency room and took the elevator to the third floor where he then entered the patient's room.

Mr. Owens has suffered from mental health issues for several years, according to police.
