Phoebe Putney rebrands for 1st time in more than 25 years

For the first time in more than a quarter century, Albany, Ga.-based Phoebe Putney Health System is revamping its logo, its slogan and even its name, according to the Albany Herald.

The system's new logo incorporates part of its previous heart-shaped logo, which had been part of the system's brand for years.

Its new slogan is fairly simple: "a better way."

And its new name has just been shortened from Phoebe Putney Health System to Phoebe. "The need to consider to do things differently is very important," said the system's President and CEO, Joel Wernick. "We continued to grow and became a system, a system with more than one hospital. Our name morphed along the way, and it evolved into a new brand."

But one element stays the same. "One thing that hasn't changed is our commitment to patients," Mr. Wernick added.

It took more than one year of research and discussions to see the rebranding campaign come to fruition. Officials believe the new brand will better represent the impact Phoebe has on 35 different counties, as well as the importance of its "commitment during changes to the healthcare landscape," according to the report.

Over the coming months, the system will roll out new billboards, print advertisements, TV ads, flags and employee name badges. Phoebe's revamped website will launch at the end of March.
