Rockdale Medical Center names Richard Tanzella CEO: 4 things to know

Conyers, Ga.-based Rockdale Medical Center, part of Atlanta-based Piedmont Healthcare, selected Richard Tanzella to serve as CEO, according to The Covington News.

Here are four things to know:

1. Last month, Piedmont Healthcare signed an asset purchase agreement with Brentwood, Tenn.-based LifePoint Health for Rockdale Medical Center. The acquisition is expected to close in the fall.

2. Mr. Tanzella replaces Alan George, who will remain with LifePoint Health.

3. Mr. Tanzella previously served as COO of Piedmont’s Physician Enterprise, overseeing 600 employed physicians.

4. Prior to joining Piedmont, he led physician services and market development at Northeast Georgia Health System in Gainesville.
