11 latest hospital, health system CEO moves

The following hospital and health system CEO moves were announced or made in the last week. They are listed below, beginning with the most recent.

1. Atlanta-based Piedmont Healthcare has chosen Patrick Battey, MD, as the next CEO of Piedmont Atlanta Hospital.

2. Michael Lally, CEO of Calais (Maine) Regional Hospital, resigned June 23.

3. Auburn, Ind.-based DeKalb Health named Craig Polkow CEO, effective Aug. 3.

4. Longview (Texas) Regional Medical Center named Casey Robertson CEO, effective July 27.

5. Lakeway (Texas) Regional Medical Center, which has struggled financially and was being run by an outside management company, chose Philippe Bochaton as CEO.

6. Coquille (Ore.) Valley Hospital hired Karen Lautermilch as CEO.

7. MemorialCare Health System,  a six-hospital network based in Fountain Valley, Calif., announced that John Bishop, CFO of Long Beach (Calif.) Memorial, Miller Children's & Women's Hospital Long Beach (Calif.), Community Hospital Long Beach (Calif.) and Seaside Health Plan, was appointed CEO of the three hospitals.

8. Nicholas "Nico" Tejeda is leaving his job as CEO of Doctors Hospital of Manteca (Calif.) to become the new CEO of Sierra Providence East Medical Center in El Paso, Texas.

9. Marsha D. Rappley, MD, was named Virginia Commonwealth University vice president for health sciences and CEO of the VCU Health System in Richmond, effective Aug. 15.

10. Cameron Memorial Community Hospital in Angola, Ind., named Connie McCahill president and CEO.

11. Altamonte Springs, Fla.-based Adventist Health System named Jim Boyle interim CEO of Central Texas Medical Center in San Marcos.
