University Hospitals, Allscripts expand partnership: 4 things to know

University Hospitals, based in Cleveland, has expanded and extended its agreement with Allscripts through 2024.

Here are four things to know.

1. UH plans to expand the Allscripts Sunrise Clinical Manager platform already in use at nine of its hospitals. The expansion project will add additional Sunrise modules, including surgery, anesthesia, radiology and more.

2. Additionally, UH plans to install the Sunrise platform at five recently acquired hospitals.

3. The health system also plans to increase use of the interoperability and data aggregation solution Allscripts dbMotion.

4. "Having a robust, single patient record across the continuum of our acute care will provide our physicians with the information they need to make crucial decisions regarding patient care," said Jeffrey Sunshine, MD, PhD, CMIO of UH.
