Chicago-based Rush Health, together with Ready Computing, has deployed Rush Health Connect, an IT solution allowing its members to quickly and securely exchange information.
Rush Health Connect enables access to aggregated clinical information as well as customized patient alerts. Currently the HIE aggregates information from Epic and AllScripts EHRs, used by numerous Rush Health members. In the future, the HIE will also aggregate information from other EHRs in its network, such as eClinicalWorks and athenahealth.
The HIE allows providers to view patient information on their EHR, even when the data was collected on another EHR. Additionally, the solution features real-time alerts and notifications that will help improve care coordination. The solution also includes real-time clinical analytics.
Rush Health is a leading clinically integrated network of physicians and hospitals that includes more than 1,100 physicians and 300 other clinicians. It collaborated with Ready Computing, a consulting firm that focuses on HIE implementations, to complete the first phase of the HIE launch. Rush Health will continue to work with the firm to expand the HIE further across its network.
