16 RCM service expansions in July

Here are 16 revenue cycle management portfolio expansions involving healthcare vendors and providers in July.

1. Experian Health, a provider of comprehensive revenue cycle products and services, chose MongoDB as its nonrelational database.

2. Chicago-based R1 RCM, a revenue cycle management and physician advisory services provider, unveiled five modular solutions.

3. Atlanta-based MediStreams, which offers technological RCM solutions to healthcare providers, unveiled a line of billing solutions that resulted in significant business growth.

4. Medical Billers and Coders, one of the nation's largest medical billing associations, expanded its footprint to Tennessee.

5. Muncie, Ind.-based Ontario Systems, an accounts receivable and healthcare revenue cycle management software and services provider, entered an RCM partnership with TransUnion Healthcare, a subsidiary of Chicago-based credit and information management company TransUnion.

6. Albany, Ga.-based Phoebe Putney Health System; St. Augustine, Fla.-based Flagler Hospital; and Anderson, S.C.-based AnMed Health chose Charlotte, N.C.-based AccessOne for patient financing.

7. Ability Network, a Minneapolis-based information technology company, acquired Eagan, Minn.-based healthcare payment company Secure Bill Pay. 

8. WCH Service Bureau, a private RCM company in Brooklyn, N.Y., revealed a RCM service for medical practices.

9. Murfreesboro, Tenn.-based TwelveStone Health Partners chose Costa Mesa, Calif.-based CareCredit for patient financing services.

10. Marlton, N.J.-based Zinserv Healthcare, a provider of interim revenue cycle professionals and accounts receivable management, will offer remote Medicare billing specialists to healthcare facilities nationwide.

11. Traverse City, Mich.-based Munson Healthcare implemented the OnPlan/Bluefin Payment Card Industry-validated point-to-point encryption solution.

12. Nashville, Tenn.-based Saint Thomas Health, part of St. Louis-based Ascension, partnered with MDsave, an online healthcare marketplace, to help patients reduce their out-of-pocket costs.

13. Fayetteville, N.C.-based Valley Regional Imaging entered a revenue cycle and practice management agreement with Zotec Partners.

14. Teaneck, N.J.-based Holy Name Medical Center partnered with cost management platform Medpricer.

15. Cotiviti, a payment accuracy solutions provider, will aquire Louisville, Ky.-based RowdMap, a value-based analytics company, for $70 million.

16. Medical Transcription Billing Corp., a healthcare information technology provider, acquired client accounts and related business assets from a Washington-based revenue cycle management company.
