15 recent hospital outlook and credit rating actions

The following hospital and health system rating and outlook changes and affirmations took place in the last two weeks, starting with the most recent.

1. S&P raises Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center's bond rating
Standard & Poor's Ratings Services raised its underlying rating to "BBB" from "BBB-" on the California Health Facilities Financing Authority's existing debt issued on behalf of the Pomona (Calif.) Valley Hospital District. 

2. S&P revises Clarendon Hospital District's outlook to negative
Standard & Poor's Ratings Services revised its outlook to negative from stable on Manning, S.C.-based Clarendon Hospital District's series 2011A general obligation bonds.  

3. Moody's assigns 'Baa2' to Jackson Hospital and Clinic's bonds
Moody's Investors Service assigned a "Baa2" rating to Montgomery, Ala.-based Jackson Hospital and Clinic's proposed series 2015 fixed rate revenue bonds, affecting $93 million. 

4. Moody's assigns 'A3' rating to Kaweah Delta Health Care District's bonds
Moody's Investors Service assigned an "A3" rating to Visalia, Calif.-based Kaweah Delta Health Care District's proposed series 2015B revenue bonds. 

5. Fitch affirms Heritage Valley Health System's 'A+' rating
Fitch Ratings affirmed the "A+" rating on $60.9 million of Beaver, Pa.-based Heritage Valley Health System's series 2012 revenue bonds. 

6. Moody's revises Monongahela Valley Hospital's outlook to negative
Moody's Investors Service affirmed the "Baa2" underlying bond rating on Monongahela (Pa.) Valley Hospital's series 2011A and 2011B variable rate demand bonds, affecting $24 million of debt. 

7. Moody's downgrades Fremont-Rideout Health Group's rating to 'Baa2'
Moody's Investors Service downgraded Marysville, Calif.-based Fremont-Rideout Health Group's revenue bond rating to "Baa2" from "A3," affecting approximately $112 million of debt. 

8. Moody's revises Charleston Area Medical Center's outlook to negative
Moody's Investors Service revised the rating to negative from stable on Charleston (W.V.) Area Medical Center's rated debt, affecting approximately $285.4 million.

9. Moody's affirms Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters' 'A2' rating
Moody's Investors Service affirmed Ghent, Va.-based Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters' "A2" issuer rating.  

10. Fitch rates Edward Hospital's bonds
Fitch Ratings assigned an "A+" rating on bonds issued by the Illinois Finance Authority on behalf of the Edward Hospital Obligated Group. The hospital's parent organization is Naperville, Ill.-based Edward-Elmhurst Health.  

11. Fitch affirms Kalkaska County Hospital Authority's 'A-' rating
Fitch Ratings affirmed the "A-" rating on Kalkaska (Mich.) County Hospital Authority's series 2007 hospital authority unlimited tax bonds, affecting $2.1 million.

12. Moody's downgrades Baptist Healthcare System's rating to 'A3'
Moody's Investors Service downgraded the rating to "A3" from "A2" on Louisville, Ky.-based Baptist Healthcare System's $584 million of outstanding rated debt. 

13. Moody's affirms Central Florida Health Alliance's 'A3' rating
Moody's Investors Service affirmed the "A3" rating on Lady Lake-based Central Florida Health Alliance's outstanding bonds issued through the Sumter County Industrial Department Authority and the city of Leesburg, affecting $89 million of debt. 

14. Fitch affirms Baptist Healthcare System's 'A+' rating
Fitch Ratings affirmed the "A+" rating on Louisville, Ky.-based Baptist Healthcare System's bonds.

15. Moody's assigns 'Baa3' rating to Shands Jacksonville Medical Center's bonds
Moody's Investors Service assigned a "Baa3" rating to $85 million of Shands Jacksonville (Fla.) Medical Center's series 2015 healthcare facilities revenue bonds.
