“We receive phone calls from other states as to how we are able to do what we do,” Paul Jackson, workforce consultant for the UHA, told the publication. “We have great relationships with our academic partners.”
While staffing has stabilized, hospital turnover rates are still higher than before COVID-19. Mr. Jackson said turnover increased by 5 percent during the pandemic, though it since has decreased roughly 3 percent, according to the news outlet.
He added that during the pandemic, Utah hospitals were forced to dedicate most employees and resources to COVID-19 care, which affected staffing levels.
