RWJ Barnabas Health (West Orange, N.J.). In March 2016, West Orange-based Barnabas Health merged with New Brunswick, N.J.-based Robert Wood Johnson Health System to create RWJ Barnabas Health. The health system became New Jersey’s second largest private employer after the merger, covering 32,000 employees and 9,000 physicians. Barnabas Health appeared on NJBIZ’s “Best Places to Work in New Jersey” list in 2015. The health system promotes career advancement with tuition reimbursement and nursing scholarships as well as student loan forgiveness.
