Union leaders will likely meet with Hahnemann University Hospital leaders Thursday to try and work out a deal. The chance of Thomas Jefferson University Hospital reaching a deal by the June 30 deadline is less likely to happen, according to the report.
Members of the National Union of Hospital and Health Care Employees in the Philadelphia area voted earlier this month to go on strike at 6 a.m. on Sunday if they don’t have new contracts.
Two other Philadelphia hospitals have already reached agreements with the local hospital union, including Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and Temple University Health Systems, which struck a deal Wednesday night.
