The number of vacancies for healthcare practitioners, technical occupations and support personnel advertised online fell in May, according to a release from the Conference Board.

The drop of 82,800 ads from April, to 540,400 ads in May, basically reflected falling demand for physical and occupational therapists, registered nurses and speech pathologists.

Still, ads for healthcare practitioners or technical occupations outnumbered people looking for work there by nearly 3 to 1.

In healthcare support occupations, on the other hand, two people were looking for work for every one advertised vacancy.
