The survey found that internist salaries in 2010 averaged $191,864, up 6.6 percent from $179,958 in 2009. Internist compensation remained lower than that of radiologists, who reported an average annual salary of $398,571 in 2010.
The survey reported surgeons’ average salaries fell from $287,520 to $284,642 from 2009 to 2010, a 2.4 percent decrease.
