Fortune has released its 2026 lists of the best large workplaces across four major U.S. markets, with 22 healthcare companies included.
To compile the lists, Fortune partnered with people analytics firm Great Place to Work, which surveyed employees at eligible organizations nationwide. Employees rated 60 statements on a five-point scale and answered two open-ended questions, offering both quantitative scores and qualitative feedback on workplace culture. Rankings reflect how broadly positive experiences are shared across an organization’s full workforce. Companies where more employees report consistently strong cultures rank higher.
Only companies with 1,000 or more employees are considered for the large workplaces category. Lists ranged in size, with Chicago featuring 15 companies, Texas and the Bay Area 25 each, and New York 40.
