Hospital Employment Increases 0.27% Since December

Hospital employment has increased approximately 0.27 percent since December, according to a Bureau of Labor Statistics report (pdf).

Hospital employment in January 2012 reached approximately 4.79 million employees, a gain of roughly 2.16 percent over last year.

The healthcare industry, including ambulatory healthcare services, hospitals and nursing and residential care facilities, has 14.21 million employees, an increase of approximately 0.22 percent since December and 2.54 percent since January 2011.
