Providence Regional Everett in Washington to Cut Up To 175 Jobs

Providence Regional Medical Center Everett (Wash.) plans to cut 150-175 jobs by the end of October, according to a Snohomish County Business Journal report.

The job cuts are in response to a budget shortfall caused by lower Medicaid reimbursements, lower patient volumes and higher uncompensated care. In order to limit the number of involuntary layoffs, the hospital will set forth a voluntary layoff program that features severance, continuation of benefits (depending on seniority) and job search assistance, according to the report.

Not all employees who apply for a voluntary layoff will be allowed one.
