Twenty-seven healthcare organizations landed on Fortune’s list of the best large workplaces for women in 2026.
The list, published Oct. 28, was developed with Great Place to Work. The healthcare organizations on the list include eight health systems, along with pharmaceutical and life sciences companies, insurers, senior living and home health providers, and healthcare services firms.
Rankings are based on employee feedback from Great Place to Work’s Trust Index survey. The survey asks employees to respond to 60 statements and two open-ended questions about trust in leadership, fairness, pride and camaraderie. To build the list, Great Place to Work analyzed survey responses from employees who identify as women and compared them with responses from their peers. It also looked at whether women’s experiences differed by demographic background or position within the organization. Representation counted as well: the group compared each company’s gender balance with Bureau of Labor Statistics industry data and tracked how women’s representation changes from front-line roles up to the board.
To be eligible, companies had to be Great Place to Work Certified and have at least 50 female employees. Women also had to hold at least 20% of non-executive management roles, and at least one C-suite executive had to be a woman. The 2026 list draws on more than 640,000 survey responses from female employees at eligible companies.
