LinkedIn News has released its annual list of the 25 fastest-growing U.S. metro areas for jobs — and health systems are among the top employers for several.

The July 22 list was created by identifying the U.S. metros with the strongest job market momentum and net positive migration, focusing on areas with fewer than 2.5 million LinkedIn members.

The top industries hiring for the No. 1 metro on the list, Augusta, Ga., were hospitals and healthcare, higher education and electric power generation. Richmond, Va.-based VCU Health was a top employer for the No. 2 spot, and Reno, Nev.-based Renown Health was a top employer for the No. 3 spot.

Health systems also ranked among the top employers in several other metros, including WellSpan Health in both Harrisburg, Pa. (No. 5) and Lancaster, Pa. (No. 11); Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, S.C. (No. 6); and MaineHealth in Portland, Maine (No. 9).
