To determine which occupations had the most women employed, Business Insider used salary data from the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2016 American Community Survey and descriptions of these jobs from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Most of these jobs are in healthcare, education and administration.
Of 43 jobs the analysis revealed to be female-dominated, about one-third (16) were in healthcare:
1. Audiologist
2. Personal care aide
3. Occupational therapy assistant and aide
4. Phlebotomist
5. Nursing, psychiatric and home health aide
6. Occupational therapist
7. Licensed practical and licensed vocational nurse
8. Nurse practitioner
9. Registered nurse
10. Dietitian and nutritionist
11. Medical records and health information technician
12. Medical assistant
13. Medical transcriptionist
14. Dental assistant
15. Dental hygienist
16. Nurse midwife
