13 hospitals, health systems raising minimum wage

Here are 13 healthcare organizations that have or plan to raise their minimum wage:

1. Philadelphia-based Jefferson Health will raise its minimum wage to $15 per hour, effective in January.

2. New Orleans-based Ochsner Health System will raise its minimum wage from $8.10 per hour to $12 per hour, effective Jan. 20.

3. Marlton, N.J.-based Virtua, one of the state’s largest nonprofit health systems, will increase its minimum wage to $15.15 per hour, effective Jan. 1.

4. Advocate Aurora Health — the health system formed through the merger of Downers Grove, Ill.-based Advocate Health Care and Milwaukee-based Aurora Health — will incrementally increase its minimum wage to $15 per hour by early 2021.

5. The Cleveland Clinic will raise the minimum wage for employees to $15 by 2020.

6. Wilmington, Del.-based Christiana Care Health System will increase its minimum wage to $15 an hour, effective Feb. 1.

7. Charlotte, N.C.-based Atrium Health increased the minimum wage for employees from $11.50 to $12.50 per hour. 

8. Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Novant Health raised its minimum wage in North Carolina from $11 per hour to $12.50 per hour.

9. Camden, N.J.-based Cooper University Health Care will increase the minimum wage for full-time, part-time and per-diem employees to $15 an hour, effective Jan. 1.

10. Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center raised its minimum hourly wage from $11 to $12.50.

11. Danville, Pa.-based Geisinger revealed plans Aug. 29 to raise the minimum wage for employees and new hires systemwide to $11 per hour.

12. Cape Girardeau, Mo.-based St. Francis Healthcare System revealed plans in June to give raises to more than 200 employees, or nearly 8 percent of its workforce, effective July 8.

13. Pittsburgh-based Allegheny Health Network will increase its minimum wage to $15 per hour by 2021.
