Ten U.S. hospitals and health systems were among 78 organizations worldwide recognized with the 2026 Gallup Exceptional Workplace Award, announced March 4.
Gallup has recognized organizations with the award for two decades. Eligible organizations apply and are evaluated by a review panel using qualitative and quantitative workplace data focused on employee engagement and strengths-based development.
The winners include engagement honorees, which embed engagement into their workplace culture, and strengths winners, organizations that maximize employee potential by integrating strengths-based development into their missions.
Baton Rouge, La.-based FMOL Health was the only health system recognized as a strengths winner, and joined nine other systems in the engagement category.
“Over the past year, our team members have demonstrated exceptional dedication, professionalism and a deep commitment to our mission,” President and CEO EJ Kuiper said in a March 4 health system news release. “When we invest in our people, elevate their voices, and support their growth, we reinforce a culture where engagement thrives and excellence becomes possible.”
According to Gallup, organizations recognized for engagement reported an average 70% employee engagement rate, with 14 engaged employees for every one actively disengaged employee — eight times the average U.S. rate.
