For the study, researchers examined data on 50 U.S. metropolitan areas based on about 8,000 open physician jobs posted on Doximity in 2017 and 2018.

1. Tucson, Ariz.: 20 percent
2. Los Angeles: 19 percent
3. Chicago: 19 percent
4. Little Rock, Ark.: 18 percent
5. Baltimore: 17 percent
6. Albuquerque, N.M.: 9 percent
7. Charlotte, N.C.: 8 percent
8. Seattle: 6 percent
9. Virginia Beach, Va.: 6 percent
10. St. Louis: 3 percent
