1,700 insurance jobs created in September

A preliminary U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics report showed the insurance industry saw 1,700 jobs created in September, a marginal 0.07 percent increase over August.

The agency’s Employment Situation Report shows insurance carriers and related activities employ more than 2.6 million individuals.   

Over the past 12 months 54,100 insurance-related jobs were created, representing more than a 2 percent year-over-year increase.
